Throughout the past 25 years, the Mexican Café has brought to you, for your enjoyment and entertainment, a host of wonderful and talented Latin musicians. Everyone looking for a great time, from Latins to Kiwis, have enjoyed sensational sounds from musicians such as Eduardo from Kantuta and Sergio Aureliano who still performs in New Zealand. The Mex has seen many of these musicians and bands grow and their success skyrocket. This commitment to giving first class entertainment to our customers with live music will continue to give opportunities to many more musicians.

Wednesday night, and a DJ on Friday night
for you to soak up this unique Latin atmosphere.

Wednesday night - live music

The Mexican Café is delighted to announce that Wednesday night live music is up and running again.

The Enrique Morales band, will get you feeling warm and relaxed with their seductive Bossa Nova, Samba and MPB (Musica Popular Brasiliera).

The band is a four piece band led by Henrique Morales on guitar and vocals, with Isaac on bass, Nathan on keyboard and Lance on drums. All four band members have fine musical pedigrees. Henrique comes from Porto Alegre in Brazil and has been playing and singing for over 20 years, He brings much live performance experience with him.

So in the cold, wet and dark depths of winter, don't waste your time "LOST" in front of the TV. What better way is there to keep warm and entertained than being at the Mexican Cafe with drink in hand enjoying a truly gifted band.

The Enrique Morales Band play at The Mex every Wednesday from 8:30pm.

DJ King Salsa on Fridays

Raul Peredo, better known as DJ King Salsa, comes all the way from Santiago in Chile. He has been in the Hot Latin scene for 12 years with four of those in New Zealand.

We first met DJ King Salsa with his famous Anakoana Parties in Auckland, where he was well known for his fantastic Latin Music and all new to New Zealand. Raul Peredo, a DJ of many talents, is not only New Zealand's Number 1 Latin DJ but also a professional Football player. But his real passion in life, apart from his wife and children, is his music and bringing it to all the Latin music fans out there.

So, DJ King Salsa would like to invite all to experience a night of Hot Latin dance music. From Salsa & Merengue to Latin Pop, Samba and more…

DJ King Salsa performs every Friday night from 11 p.m and is very popular here at The Mex.

The Mexican Café also continues to host new bands and performers entertaining you with Salsa and Merengue, Samba, T-Chan dance, Mexican Music, Latin DJ's and much, much more. The Mex, famous for its great parties, regularly promotes for your enjoyment these special days, dates and parties.
